Day 28 Rest Day in Pittsburg, KS

No movement today. Taking a day off to rest the legs now that we are in Kansas. Some say that the Appalachians, Eastern Kentucky and the Ozarks are the toughest part of this ride. Others say that Kansas can even be harder. Even though it's flat, the heat and the wind can be a great challenge. Hoping for easy winds as I ride through the cornfields. If I get a tail wind I'll take advantage and do some extra miles. I will not let Kansas defeat me. I will be thinking of Colorado now and the scenic rockies. Maybe even play some John Denver.

Ed left this a.m. for Eureka. We heard he made it, 111 miles. Nice going Ed, have a great ride and hope to see you again. Tomorrow Andreas will be driving to Colorado Springs in the morning and we'll hopefully meet up again in a few days in Florence, Colorado. Margie and I will be on our own for a few days.
